Get to the other shore, whatever that other shore is.

What is the difference between those who meet their desires and those who don’t? How often have you set a goal and never achieved it? Success in anything comes when we face the challenge and seize the opportunity. Some call it the power of positive thought; others label it manifestation, while others call it the fruits of hard work.

However you label it, life follows what we focus on. This works in all directions, forward or backward. So what is the distinction between accomplishment or not?

The principles of success are simple; however, many will never reach the end they desire.

Three Practices for Success

Our thoughts create our lives. However, we only become the image of what we want if we shed the thoughts that we do not deserve to become it. Our subconscious will prove ourselves correct and fail if we do not lose the undying thoughts that do not meld with our desired intentions. Herein lies the most potent truth.

Self-sabotage will take hold, and we will make excuses and quit before we can prove our inner dialog wrong. I am enough; three simple words stand between the life we deserve and the life we will settle for. You need to stop self-questioning your desired thoughts and instead have confidence in their Power.

To change our thoughts will not yield success. There is more to it. Repeated thoughts create a psychic groove in the mind with every repetition, yet it takes energy to get there.

Energy also must be put into it. The Power of 100 is the concept of putting 100 hours a year into anything. If you do this without fail, dedicating the time and focusing on a skill will significantly improve your ability in that area.

The level of skills learned will qualify you to execute them with confidence. The key point to this concept is a small commitment can have a significant impact. Learning to micro-focus on minor, manageable skills snowballs into more considerable successes. The 100 hours is intentionally focused attention with a deliberate attitude. These 10o hours break down to just 18 minutes a day. By continuing the Power of 100, mastery comes once at least 10,000 hours have been dedicated. This energy can be focused on any skill, artistic, academic, athletic, or even meditation or mindfulness practices.

The 3rd component is gratitude. The more you honor and are grateful for what you have, the more abundance will come to you. To be grateful is an appreciation, an alignment with what is. Gratitude is not gratitude if it is a comparison to others. Genuine gratitude is an inner assessment of the now.

You can go from failure to success, but you can not go from excuses to success. The next time a goal is unmet, take a moment to see if you took your eye off the prize, were sidetracked down a different road, or if your inner dialog veered from your desires. It doesn’t matter what obstacle was in your path if you continue to desire the success of a goal, focus your eyes on what you want, and practice daily towards that end. Life follows the direction of our eyes; triumph will follow where we put our attention, focus, energy, and intention.

In life, you do not become what you want. You become what you believe you are worthy of.
